Founded in 2025 by Jim Reeder—a music industry veteran since 1996—our recording studio is built on a passion for making high-quality music recording services accessible to all artists. With decades of experience as a musician, mix engineer, and producer, Jim opened Spare Records to provide an exceptional recording experience without the prohibitive costs of larger studios. We believe great music can come from anywhere, and we’re here to help artists bring their vision to life.

At The Back Alley, we specialize in recording all genres of music. Our live room, drum/piano section, and control room are equipped with an SSL 4000E 40-channel console, Burl converters, and top-tier outboard gear like LA2A, 1176, and Pultec. With Pro Tools, Logic, and an ever-growing mic locker, we provide the tools to capture your sound with precision.
